Going Home...

Well...... finally I get to go home and see where we really live and meet who else lives with us.......

First thing I met was my "going" to be best friend Daisy Mae. She is an almost 4 year old black and silver mini schnauzer. Gosh she sniffed me alot. We also had a 14 year old black chow chow named Kemba. He was a very laid back guy. He is not with us anymore, he went to heaven right before my 1st Birthday. He was not at all barkey like Daisy Mae. Mommy and Daddy miss him very much. The biggest big mouth is our parrot T.C. He is a double yellow crowned amazon and is about 24 years old. Wow how does anyone sleep around here?

Also, I had more visitors. My grandparents came by to see me and check in on Mommy. She really wasn't feeling very well. Along with the normal c-section pain, she had a lot of abnormal swelling and joint pain and her thyroid was really messed up causing anxiety attacks and heart palpitations and of course Daddy had to give Mommy a shot in her stomach every night for 6 weeks of blood thinners that he did learn how to do at the hospital.

Mommy said it was all worth it though......because she had waited a very long time to get me and she would've went thru anything!

Many Visitors

As Mommy said in the previous blog...I had many visitors. Here are a few pics of the many pics that were taken of people holding me. My brother Matthew, Grandpa Lou, and Mamaw Cathy. Oh, and along with visiting me...Grandma Fleta had to bring Mommy a Starbucks right away. Apparently she hadn't had any cafeeine during pregnancy. Dad was going to start Mommy's shot in her belly of blood thinners. Yuck! She is hoping the six weeks goes quick and Daddy doesn't get too crazy with the needle. LOL

My Arrival....

Okay so, Mom was due on June 14th and she still wasn't dialted nor had she dropped. Dr. Ertel had her come to the hospital on the 19th @ 7:oo am to be induced. Let's just say that Mom didn't do very well. She had only dialated to a 4 and still hadn't dropped after 30 hours, so at noon on Tuesday the 20th, Dr. Ertel decided to take me by C-section. Mom was really tired and she had a weird paralyzing reaction to the epidural. She didn't even opt for it for almost 24 hours.Well...I was born on Tuesday, June 20th at 12:23 p.m. I was 7 pounds and 2 ounces and 20 inches long. I had lots of visitors: Brother Matthew, Grandma and Grandpa Ellis, Grandma and Grandpa Maxwell, Grandpa Lou, Aunt Kim, Uncle Jack, cousin Stephanie, Uncle Jason and Aunt Nikki, Uncle Ryan and Aunt Brandi with cousins Myles, Olivia & Peyton, Aunt Shannon, Sharon & Bob Maxey, Cousin Crissy, & Friends Heather and Martin. Many others wanted to come but decided to wait until we got home.We had to stay until Friday since Mom had a C-section and I had to go the NICU for one afternoon because I was having some minor breathing issues due to fluid in the lungs from the surgery.

Mom's Last Day at Work-May 26,2006

Well, this was definately a very hard day for my Mom. She had been working for my Grandpa Jeff and Grandma Fleta at their Painting & Wallcovering business for nearly 7 years. She had made the decision to stay home with me and she was excited about that...but sad about leaving full-time. She knew she was leaving her old job in good hands (Thanks Aunt Patty) but what a hard transition. The hardest part, she knew would be not seeing Grandma every single day and that change even good for me and Mom was still hard on her and her own Mom.

Mommy answered phones, did payroll, accts. payable, stock inventory, bids for Papaw and the list goes on. Some days it was hard working with family, but all in all it will go down as one of Mommy's most cherished times. She will still go in once and a while to take over for Patty's days off and give an extra hand but her full-time working is over for now. The end of an era.....

Mom left with a bang.......cake party that is. Yes, of course almond pound with truffle filling from Classic Cakes. She got many cards and well wishes along with a new Douney and Bourke purse and nail gift card. Mamaw and Papaw took Mommy to lunch and then she was off to start her new life with me. YEAH!
